Church Plants L-Z
LifePoint Christian Church was born out of a desire to be a different kind of church, for the purpose of making a difference in the lives of people far from God. Since its opening day on January 27, 2002, LifePoint has been doing just that, connecting with people who had given up on church or had little to no understanding of what it meant to be in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Worship gatherings were first held in an elementary school for a little over one year and then a movie theater for 2 years before settling in at the present location of the J. Douglas Williams YMCA in Lake Mary in April 2005. A unique partnership with the YMCA has been formed which allows the church to work with the YMCA in shared strategies to influence their 9,000 members toward following Christ.
Since 2002 over 80 people have been baptized, 2 people have entered the ministry, one family now serves on the mission field, 3 elders have been ordained, healthy small groups have been established, the staff has grown to 2 full-time and 3 part-time persons, and a house in downtown Lake Mary has been renovated into much needed office space and a centrally located ministry hub.
LifePoint’s influence for Christ though stretches far beyond its local presence as technologically savvy staff and members use their personal Blogs, podcasts, Facebook and Twitter accounts to engage people worldwide in discussion and teaching about following Jesus.
Florida Church Partners played a key role in planting LifePoint and allowing them the freedom to develop a unique ministry strategy to meet the oft-overlooked needs of those far from God in today’s 21st century culture. LifePoint joyfully gives back 5% of its offerings to Florida Church Partners as part of their commitment to church planting and the evangelization of the lost in our fast growing state.
